APS Foundation Click Pens,
APS Awareness Ribbon Lapel Pins, & NEW! APS Informational Booklets

ON SALE NOW!

Our APS Informational Booklet is now available for purchase. They are $2.00 each and are 14 pages in color. Our APS Booklet is a very good informational tool to help educate family, friends, and even doctors about Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome. Our booklet was written in layperson's terms, so it is easy to read and understand. A team of people contributed to this publication. Information was adapted from various websites, books, and other media sources.  Please contact us through the website for a complete list of sources.  This booklet was assessed at draft stage by doctors, allied health professionals, an education specialist and people with APS. A non-medical editor rewrote the text to make it easy to understand and an APS Foundation of America, Inc. medical editor is responsible for the content overall. This booklet is not yet available for download. If you would like a lot of booklets, please contact us for pricing.

We have a new fundraiser going on right now. We are collecting used cell phones and ink cartridges. This is another easy way to donate to and support the APSFA without making a monetary donation. The average American family has 3 old cell phones in their home.

Phoneraiser was founded in 2003 to provide an environmentally responsible way to raise funds for a wide variety of organizations. We strive to be a leader in fundraising by offering an innovative and simple venue to dispose of potentially hazardous cellular waste.

Did you know?

Numbers of phones: Used cell phones are plentiful! Inform, an independent research organization, issued a study explaining that there are more than 500 million used, out-of-commission and obsolete cell phones in homes and offices across America.

Environmental hazards: If not disposed of properly, cell phones are damaging to our air, soil and water:
  • One cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water.

  • Cell phones (and other electronic devices) contain toxic substances such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, and beryllium that can pollute the air when burned in incinerators and leach into soil and drinking water when buried in landfills.

  • Cadmium can damage the kidneys and it is transfered through the air and through our food.

  • Lead Accumulates in land fills and can cause damage to the central and peripheral nervous systems.

  • Mercury gets into our water supply and accumulates in living organisms and travels up the food chain. The principal exposure pathway is through our food and it causes brain damage.

  • Phoneraiser campaigns are good for our environment because all collected cell phones and electronic devices are either refurbished or disposed of using only the most ecologically sound methods.

Phoneraiser now accepts used M3P players, digital cameras, and video game handhelds along with cell phones and some used in cartridges.

If you have phones to send, now is the time! The Phoneraiser partner who sends in the most phones by, April 18th, will win $1,000.
Please visit
www.phoneraiser.com/earthday for more details.

GoodSearch logo

The APS Foundation of America, Inc. is one of the charities participating in GoodSearch, a new Internet search engine that donates half of the advertising revenue it earns to charity. Each time you use GoodSearch and designate The APSFA as your charity of choice, GoodSearch will donate a portion of the advertising revenue earned from the search to the APSFA.

It’s easy to use. Just go to the GoodSearch homepage www.goodsearch.com and specify The APS Foundation of America, Inc. as your designated charity, click verify and scroll through the list of charities to select APSFA. After the first time, each time you return to the home page, APS Foundation of America, Inc. will appear as your designated charity. There is even a button you can click to see the number of searches and the amount raised.

Add GoodSearch to your bookmarks, make it your homepage, or even download the GoodSearch toolbar/pop-up blocker to make it easier to use. Also, please spread the word to your family and friends to help generate more contributions. GoodSearch estimates each search will raise $0.01 for your designated charity. 100 supporters searching twice a day could generate $730 a year, 1000 supporters - $7,300, and 10,000 supporters searching twice a day could generate $73,000!

With your help, GoodSearch can generate donations, at no cost to you that will help us to spread the word about APS!
